Born in Pietermaritzburg and raised in Kloof, Kwa-Zulu Natal, Cathlyn’s artistic journey led her to Cape Town in 2000 for her studies. Her upbringing in diverse South African landscapes has profoundly influenced her artistic vision, inspiring her to depict the beauty of nature through her art. 

Signature Themes and Techniques

Cathlyn’s portfolio showcases a harmonious blend of landscapes and flora, rendered in soft, pastel hues that evoke a sense of tranquility. Her “Gardenscape” series, for instance, transports viewers to a pastel-colored wonderland, reminiscent of dreamy underwater scenes or coral gardens. 

In her “Doves of Hope” collection, Cathlyn explores themes of peace and resilience. The textured layers and glinting gold accents in these pieces invite viewers to reflect on hope and beauty.
