Aneesa Loonat

Aneesa Loonat (b. 1984, Port Elizabeth/Gqeberha, South Africa) is a contemporary South African artist based in Cape Town. She holds a Fine Art degree from Nelson Mandela University, awarded in 2017. Recognized for her talent early on, she was a merit award recipient in the 2016 Sasol New Signatures competition and a top 30 finalist in the SA Taxi Awards. Working primarily with acrylic paint and creative coding, Aneesa’s art is characterized by its conceptual depth and socio-political commentary. She aspires to further her studies by pursuing a Master’s degree, expanding her exploration of identity, society, and the intricacies of human perception
