Jan was born in Potchesfstroom, a small university town in South Africa, close to Johannesburg.
His grandfather urged him to practice art and after an adventurous time in the Kalahari, he finally moved to Cape Town to pursue his art career.

Jan lives and loves Woodstock, breathing and dancing to the rhythm of the city.
His art can be best described as the struggle of human interactions with the city, relationships, identity and a millennial caught in the streets and railways of Cape Town, the Mother City.
