Tryston Brickles an artist from Fish Hoek, in Cape Town’s Southern Peninsula.

Graduating from The Ruth Prowse School of Art, Brickles works primarily in mixed media, mainly drawing and painting, layering surfaces and unexpected imagery to create space for both laughter and reflection.

Brickles uses humor as a point of connection, inviting viewers to “chuckle” even as they confront deeper truths about the human condition. His works explore the tension between the faces we present to the world and the private realities we keep hidden.

Whether playful or unsettling, his portraits and scenes reveal inner worlds that hover between imagination and confession, places where jokes become truths and masks begin to slip.
